Uncork the Week-End: Gourmet Getaway
The Opimian Society Oakville, Burlington, Niagara and beyond Chapters are pairing up with Culinary Adventure Co. for a 2-night foodie and wine experience in delicious Kingston, and stunning Prince Edward County. This weekend is reserved for mouth-watering food tours, incredible local beer and wine, a sumptuous farm to table private dinner at Old Fort Henry paired with Opimian wines and Canada’s largest Cheese Festival – all hosted by, Canada’s Big Cheese himself, Kevin Durkee and your AR Sandra! This Gourmet Getaway weekend is a perfect escape from the city to enjoy the bounty, the beauty and the charm of Kingston and the Prince Edward County area. The ultimate VIP culinary experience.

DAY 1- FRIDAY, JUNE 2:
Your gourmet getaway weekend begins with a departure from your hometown (or closest available centre) by GO transit service to Toronto where you will join the rest of the group (GO tickets may be substituted for a bus transfer if numbers are sufficient). On arrival you are met by a member of the Culinary Adventure team and taken to the starting point of your food tour (storage for your luggage will be available). Over the next two to three hours you will sip locally roasted coffee, pull apart freshly baked croissants, sink your teeth into Toronto’s iconic Peameal sandwich, indulge your sweet tooth with an Ontario original treat – and visit three more EXCLUSIVE locations not offered on the regular St. Lawrence Market + Old Town Food Tour. At the last stop you will be joined by host, Kevin Durkee Owner + Big Cheese of Culinary Adventure Co. Here we will enjoy a local Ontario drink and a complimenting signature dish of the chosen restaurant before heading off to Kingston.
On arrival in the Limestone city you will check into the hotel before enjoying a private reception at one of Kingston’s premier Craft Breweries.
DAY 2- SATURDAY, JUNE 3:
Today you’ll enjoy a full-day in Kingston with a dynamic 3-hour food tour in the charming downtown core. Afterwards you will have some free time to further explore Kingston on your own, or relax before dinner.
This evening you will enjoy an intimate group dining experience like-no-other, paired with Opimian wines at the historical Fort Henry!
DAY 3- SUNDAY, JUNE 4:
Sunday has us up bright and early, and off to Prince Edward County for a one-of-a-kind Breakfast in the Field experience, where you’ll enjoy the incredible food and company of local Winemaker; Three Dog Winery, in an unforgettable setting. Then off to The Great Canadian Cheese Festival for lunch, and where you’ll be able to sample from over 200+ Cheese producers, Wine Makers and artisan Food makers.
As a bonus we will visit two (2) premier county wineries to end the day! In the late afternoon the bus will depart back to Toronto to drop off those who began the tour there, before continuing onto the other drop off points in Oakville, Burlington and Hamilton.
